Lolita Fashion: Gothic Lolita & Sweet Lolita (Part 1)

ロリータ ファッション

Lolita fashion it's a fashion Japanese sub-culture. It's based in Victorian and Rococo inspired clothes and it's a very elegant style with many variants. Today I'll be talking about Gothic and Sweet Lolita. Please wait for the rest of the sub-styles!

ゴスロリ
(Goth-Loli, Gothic Lolita)
Gothic Lolita it's probably the most popular style between Lolitas, but although the name Gothic remembers Goth fashion it's more a Victorian Gothic fashion inspired and not an industrial Gothic that's popular nowadays. They wear black & white clothes scheme but that's not all Gothic Lolitas wear only black and white. Makeup it's very light. Don't ever thing about using black lipstick because that's something considered bad taste in the Lolita community.
They incorporate dark and rich colors like burgundy, navy and purples. Bell shaped skirts, puff-sleevescross jewelry, religious symbols, bags and purses in shapes like bats, coffins, and crucifixes, laces, bows, headpieces  are used to complement the outfits. Even tough Gothic Lolita incorporates some Gothic elements they it's not a sub-style of Gothic fashion. They are way "sweeter" than Western Gothic and darker than Sweet Lolitas which we're going to talk about, right now!
甘ロリ
(Ama-Loli, Sweet Lolita)

A very popular Lolita style too, it's Sweet Lolita. It's a more cute and colorful style that has some characteristics that can only be applied to Lolitas. Pink, light pink, yellow, lavender, greens are colors used too, and whites sometimes. They wear more laces, frilly and fluffs.
Strawberries, cherries, cakes, candies, hearts, polka dots, flowers , sweets, puppies and kitties are themes very used and cute jewelry are a must.  Curly hair with puffy pigtails are commonly used, when it comes to makeup it's very light and pinkish like a doll.
